I’m a 21 year old senior at the University of Florida majoring in Biology and minoring in Business Administration. I’m currently applying to dental schools to start Fall 2013 (keeping fingers crossed!). This year, I really started to focus on my health and fitness and as an avid blog reader, I’m hoping that starting my own blog might be helpful!
In high school, I played volleyball for 2 years, and that kept me pretty active. My diet wasn’t great, especially with parents that cook Vietnamese food, which isn’t always healthy.
I moved away for college in 2009 (5 hours away from home), and it really gave me the freedom to live and eat the way I wanted. I rarely ate out just to save money, and I definitely took advantage of the school gym, which I’m in love with. I was always cooking my meals, and I lost about 10-15 pounds my freshmen year, but my family thought I got too skinny. I didn’t seem to notice, and I thought I looked fine. I ended up gaining back some of the weight over time, and now I’m trying to just stay fit and healthy with clean eating and consistent exercise. My current goals are to be leaner and gain muscle.
I’ve always been self-conscious about my body, and I still am today. I know I’m not considered out of shape, but I’m definitely not where I want to be yet.
I’m gonna use this blog to post my meals, any recipes I may concoct, and basically all that is health related.
Fun fact about me:
I love to dance! I’ve been doing it since middle school, and started taking it more seriously in college. I recently started teaching advanced hip hop and I’m taking ballet and modern classes now as well.
